Should You Wear Camouflage While Hunting?
Today, I want to give a big shout out to Josh, who recently made a couple of great suggestions for future episodes. One of those suggestions was about the evolution of hunting attire and the utility of wearing camouflage. He made the great point that wearing camo is a relatively new fashion trend in the hunting world and if you go back and look at pictures of hunters from the 1940s and 50s, really any time prior to about the 1990s, hunters didn’t wear camo.
The stereotypical hunter from the mid-20th century was wearing a red plaid flannel shirt. While there are still hunters that dress like that today, the overwhelming majority of hunters wear some sort of camouflage these days.
So, the question is, does wearing camouflage actually increase your odds of success afield? Or is that just a marketing scheme? Well, that’s what we’re going to talk about on this episode of the Big Game Hunting Podcast.
